English as a Second Language (ESL) - Advanced Level.
Course Duration 12 weeks - London, Ontario, Canada
The goal of this course is to prepare students for communication in form situations. Students will be able to converse in academic and professional situations with some ease, understand all situations, have formal discussions, speak clearly and fluently with little or no hesitation, domostrate comfort with advanced grammar and usage, write well organized and persuasive essay.
This course is focused on conversation but requires an advanced competency with the following course components: grammar-structure and usage, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and writing.
Student's assessment will be based on the regularly scheduled quizzes and tests. The last 4 weeks of course will be directed toward TOEFL ibt course. Some students will be ready to take the TOELF ibt test.
At the end of the course students will be able to speak, listen, read and write at a very high level.
Offered: All through the year
Starting day: First Monday of each month
Requirements: Study permit.
Age: 14 and over
Classes: 23 hours classroom instructions a week, 2 hours group activities every Friday (weather permitting)
Monday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (12:00 to 1:00 lunch)
Friday: 9:00 to 12:00 noon. Activities from 1:00 to 3:00 (weather permitting)
